Elliott Erwitt, uno dei più grandi fotografi viventi del 900, passato alla storia per celebri fotografie e membro della nota agenzia fotografica Magnum Photos.
Villa Bassi Rathgeb is now hosting an exhibition dedicated to one of the most important contemporary photographers, Elliott Erwitt, celebrated for many famous photographs and a member of the renowned photographic agency Magnum Photos.
The exhibition describes his work through an extraordinary collection of rarely seen vintage photographs. Photographs of unmistakable style, characterized by black and white and by his ironic filter of
surrounding reality. The itinerary of the exhibition is a rare opportunity to learn about Erwitt’s work, through photographs ranging from the fifties to the present day, which explore a vast area of themes. dogs, children, contemporary society, travel throughout the world. It is an exhibition that permits the observer to realize how any subject can become the means to reflect upon society and how it changes.
As Erwitt says, “The reason to take photographs doesn’t matter; there will never be the desired effect if the photographs don’t express something profound, for example, an attitude towards life or sentiments about the surrounding world.”
