The spectacle of the Historical Regatta<\/strong> returns to Venice on Sunday, September 7, 2025<\/p>\n

The Historical Regatta takes place every year on the first Sunday in September. It is one of the most spectacular, picturesque and engaging moments of city life, followed especially by Venetians who gather along the banks of the Grand Canal.<\/p>\n

The historical procession re-enacts the welcome given in 1489 to Caterina Cornaro, bride of the King of Cyprus, who renounced her throne in favor of Venice.<\/p>\n

It is a parade dozens and dozens of typical sixteenth-century boats, multicolored and with costumed gondoliers, carrying the doge, the dogaressa, Caterina Cornaro, all the highest offices of the Venetian Magistracy, in a faithful reconstruction of the glorious past of one of the most powerful and influential Maritime Republics in the Mediterranean.<\/p>\n

4 p.m. –<\/strong> MACIARELE AND SCHIE Regatta<\/strong>: regatta on two-oared mascarete boats reserved for boys.<\/p>\n

4:30 p.m. – GIRLS’ Regatta ON TWO-ROAD MASCARETE.<\/strong><\/p>\n

4:50 p.m. –<\/strong> YOUTH REGATTA ON TWO-OAR PUPPARINI<\/strong><\/p>\n

5:10 p.m. –<\/strong> Six-oared CAORLINE Regatta
\nAlso – <\/i>International University Rowing Challenge.<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n

5:40 p.m.- <\/strong>WOMEN’S REGATTA ON TWO-OAR MASCARETE<\/strong><\/p>\n

6:10 p.m.<\/strong> – TWO-HEADED GONDOLINE Regatta.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Parade along the Grand Canal of historic boats with costumed figures, gondolas and boats of the Venetian rowing associations.<\/p>\n
