The Villa Bassi Rathgeb Museum<\/strong> in Abano Terme presents WOMEN POWER<\/strong>. The Feminine Universe in the Photographs of the Magnum Agency from the Postwar Period to the Present, an extraordinary photographic exhibition curated by Walter Guadagnini<\/strong> and Monica Poggi<\/strong>, which explores, through iconic images from the MAGNUM Photos agency, the role of women from the post-World War II period to the present, highlighting the strength and complexity of women’s journey toward emancipation and the social transformations that have marked the condition of women over the past seventy years. <\/p>\n

Produced by CAMERA Centro Italiano per la Fotografia in collaboration with Magnum Photos and promoted by the Municipality of Abano Terme – Museo Villa Bassi Rathgeb in collaboration with CoopCulture, WOMEN POWER focuses on two complementary aspects, women photographers who narrate reality with a unique vision, and women portraits who emerge as valuable subjects from Magnum’s lens, witnessing challenges, achievements and roles in intimate and public contexts.<\/p>\n

The exhibition’s itinerary is divided into six thematic cores that explore family context, growing up, identity, myths of beauty and fame, political battles and war. Each of these themes is represented by works created by some of Magnum Photos’ most prominent female authors, including Inge Morath, Eve Arnold, Olivia Arthur, Myriam Boulos, Bieke Depoorter, Nanna Heitmann, Susan Meiselas, L\u00faa Ribeira, Alessandra Sanguinetti, Marilyn Silverstone and Newsha Tavakolian. Internationally renowned authors alongside young contemporary female photographers, with reportages made in historically and geographically diverse contexts, ranging from portraits of Marilyn Monroe to those of FARC fighters in Colombia. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
