VENEZIA: Festa del Redentore 2026

On Saturday, July 18, the “Notte Famosissima” returns—one of the most eagerly anticipated and evocative events in Venetian tradition: the Festa del Redentore.

A magical night when Venice comes alive with excitement, colors, and spectacle, featuring banquets on boats, festive celebrations, and the lagoon’s unmistakable atmosphere. Thousands of people will gather in St. Mark’s Basin to watch the famous fireworks display, which—with reflections on the water and a play of light—will transform the Venetian sky into a scene unlike any other in the world.

The Redentore is much more than a festival: it is a tradition deeply rooted in the city’s history, created to commemorate the end of the plague of 1575–1577 and which, over time, has become a symbol of togetherness, identity, and belonging. Even today, Venetians continue to observe the rituals, savor the flavors, and uphold the customs passed down through generations, making this celebration one of the most authentic and beloved in the lagoon.

PROGRAM IN VENICE

Friday, July 17

Starting at 8:00 p.m., the votive bridge connecting the Zattere to the Church of the Redeemer on the island of Giudecca will open and remain open until midnight on Sunday, July 19.

Saturday, July 18

Starting at 11:30 p.m ., there will be a fireworks display in St. Mark’s Basin. To watch the fireworks display, whether from land or by boat, you MUST reserve your spot online, as access will be limited.
Information will soon be available on this page regarding:
— access and reservation procedures for viewing the fireworks display, either from land (viewing areas divided into the Zattere, Piazzetta San Marco, Riva degli Schiavoni, and Giudecca sectors) or from the water;
— a breakdown of mooring areas by boat type;
— safety information regarding the event.

Sunday, July 19

Redentore Regatta
4:00 p.m. – Junior Boys in 2-oar Pupparini
4:45 p.m. – Men in 2-oar Pupparini
5:30 p.m. – Men in 2-oar Gondolas

7:00 p.m. Votive Mass at the Church of the Redeemer on the island of Giudecca
