Water nativity scene in Battaglia Terme

Once again this year, the Nativity on the Water returns to brighten Christmas in Battaglia Terme.

An installation created in the early 1890s, it evokes the trades of the river village.

The famous CHRISTMAS ON THE WATER, which has been making a fine display on the canal since 1991, gets more and more characters every year.

On Wednesday, December 24, from 5 to 6 p.m., we are waiting for you to experience Christmas Eve with us in Battaglia Terme next to the beautiful Nativity scene on the water.

• While waiting for the Nativity many small performances will intertwine to create one big show.
• Baby Jesus will arrive from the water in an illuminated boat to be laid on the cradle. A procession of glittering boats will lead the shepherds, called by a messenger angel, to the hut guided by his great wings of light.
• Young and old will entertain us with their stories, Christmas poems and festive songs.
• The blessing of the crib will be an engaging and evocative moment in our Christian tradition.
• Accompanying the whole event will be the beautiful voices of the vocal trio Whitevoices. Laura Pirri, Marco Mengato, Rita Muro, accompanied by maestro Giulio JJ Farigliosi, with their special vocal harmonies will make the atmosphere even warmer and more magical.
• A not-to-be-missed event for everyone, young and old, where the spirituality and joy of the holiday come together to experience a Eve of excitement and magic.
• Christmas sweets and warm drinks for all.
