“Who am I?” – Abano Teatro 35th prose season
ABANO THEATER 2024-25:
“Who am I?” – Friday, February 14, 2025
FRANCESCO PANNOFINO
written and directed by Angelo Longoni
Giuseppe Cederna as Iago brings the famous 1604 Shakespearean tragedy to the stage. “Iago, stage demiurge extraordinaire, is not content with a little show to be wedged between two dialogues, but pushes the creative challenge beyond mimesis and performs the miracle, making real what is not real,” says director Emanuele Gamba. (…) Surrounded by lights on floor lamps, two hangers, a box of props, a few chairs and a few outfits, Iago – for love of Desdemona or for love of the Theater who knows – sets up a labyrinth, that of the Moor’s mind in which fake words ignite real passions that lead straight to epilogues of death; and once again the word, the verb, the logos that rips through the sky like thunder, lightning and thunderbolts wins.”
ABANO THEATER 2024-25: Nine dates for the 35th prose season, an exciting journey through stories and characters that will make us think, dream and, why not, even laugh. We believe in lightness not as superficiality but “to glide over things from above” as Italo Calvino said.
