On the occasion of the 800th anniversary of the foundation of the University of Padua, the university opens its most prestigious science venues to visitors.
Every Saturday, Sunday and public holidays, until 3 March 2023, with a single advantageous ticket, it is possible to take the Grand Tour of Science that includes the Palazzo del Bo, with its Anatomical Theatre and the chair of Galileo Galilei; the oldest university botanical garden in the world, a Unesco heritage site; the Sala dei Giganti with its grandiose cycle of frescoes the Museum of Archaeological Sciences and Art and Palazzo Liviano, designed by Gio Ponti; the first Museum of Geography in Italy; the ‘Giovanni Poleni’ Museum of the History of Physics with its precious scientific instruments; the ‘Enrico Bernardi’ Museum of Machines, which houses the first Italian machine; the historical garden of Villa Parco Bolasco in Castelfranco Veneto (TV), already awarded as the most beautiful park in Italy.

Grand Tour tickets can be purchased at the ticket offices of the Botanical Garden, Palazzo del Bo in Padua and Villa Parco Bolasco in Castelfranco Veneto, or at https://800anniunipd.it/grandtour .
The ticket is valid until 3 March 2023 and includes a guided tour of Palazzo del Bo, entrance to the Botanical Garden and Villa Parco Bolasco in Castelfranco Veneto (TV).
Visits to the Palazzo del Bo and the Liviano are exclusively with a guide. The guided tour includes a visit to the Antique Courtyard, the Aula Magna, Galileo Galilei’s chair in the Sala dei Quaranta, the ‘anatomical kitchen’ and the Anatomical Theatre, the Medicine and Law Rooms, the statue of Elena Cornaro, the Rector’s Office, the Ancient Archive and the Basilica.

The purchase of a ticket contributes to the cycle of free weekend special openings of the Museum of Archaeological Sciences, the Hall of Giants and the Liviano Palace, the Museum of Geography, the ‘Giovanni Poleni’ Museum of the History of Physics and the ‘Enrico Bernardi’ Machine Museum.
