45th Jujube Festival

HISTORIC AND BELOVED FESTIVAL IN ARQUÀ PETRARCA

Giuggiola is the typical fruit of Arquà Petrarca. For more than 40 years, on the first two Sundays of October, this event has been attracting hundreds of visitors.
In the most authentic medieval atmosphere, flag-wavers, drummers, costumed figures and the traditional market will enliven the streets of the Borgo, while expert bakers will prepare traditional “medieval sandwiches” using ancient wood-burning ovens.
There will be no shortage of local wines!

SUNDAY, OCTOBER 5, 2025

9 a.m.
Opening Pro Loco and exhibitors’ booths, from P.zza Petrarca to P.zza S. Marco.
10 a.m.
Medieval atmosphere in the streets of the Borgo, with costumed figures (until 1 p.m.).
Procession along the streets of the Old Town, accompanied by the Town Band.
10:30 a.m.
Vanessa’s birds of prey display in the churchyard of St. Mary of the Assumption Church in Petrarch Square.
3:00 p.m.
Performance by the Flag-wavers of the Walled City of Montagnana in P.zza Petrarca and P.zza San Marco.
City Band performance through the streets of the Borgo.
7 pm
Closing of the Pro Loco booth and exhibitors.

“The Art of Play” display (traditional wooden games) on the churchyard of the Church of St. Maria Assutnta in Petrarca Square.

Performance of the Monticelli contrada cavalry that will end at about 6 p.m.
6:30 p.m.
A “fiery” choreography of drummers and flag-wavers will take place on the churchyard of the Holy Trinity Church in Petrarch Square.
7:30 pm
Closing of the Pro Loco booth and exhibitors.
