Simply Red – 40th anniversary tour 2025

Simply Red is a British soul and pop band formed in 1985 in Manchester, UK. The band’s frontman and founder is Mick Hucknall, known for his warm, powerful voice as well as his distinctive red hair, hence the band’s name (“Red” for the color of his hair).

Their musical style is a combination ofsoul, pop, jazz and rhythm and blues, with influences ranging from funk to reggae music. They have become internationally famous through such hits as:

Their most acclaimed album, Stars (1991), solidified their fame, selling millions of copies worldwide and remaining at the top of the British charts for a long time. Simply Red has continued to release albums and tour for decades, maintaining a solid fan following. Although the band’s lineup has changed over time, Hucknall has remained the lynchpin and soul of the project.
