Waiting for “Berta’s Time”

Event dedicated to children, families and all those who wish to spend a day immersed in the atmosphere of the Middle Ages

On Sunday, May 24, from 10:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., the rustic villa Draghi (Enrico Fermi Street, 1) will host“Waiting for Berta’s Time,” a free admission event dedicated to children, families and all those who wish to spend a day immersed in the atmosphere of the Middle Ages.

Organized by APS Berta under the patronage of the Municipality of Montegrotto Terme and in collaboration with various local entities, the event will offerexperiential activities, workshops and demonstrations designed to engage young and old in a journey through history, nature and legend.

Throughout the day, a small medieval camp will be set up where the public can observe woodworking, learn about medieval fighting weapons and discover curiosities related to daily life and hygiene in the Middle Ages. There will also be workshops on medieval writing, weaving and numismatics, as well as old-fashioned historical games designed especially for youngsters.

The program also includes, from 11:00 a.m., the opportunity to experience archery, while from 3:30 p.m. the saddle christening will kick off, a guided experience of the first approach to horses and riding in total safety. Finally, at 4 p.m., space will be given to the“Knights’ Challenge.”

For the occasion,“Villa Draghi Experience,” a format already popular with the public, will also be revived, with a meeting at 10 a.m. The experience includes an accompanied visit to the Museum of Ancient Thermalism and the Territory, a walk in the park of Villa Draghi with a tour of the villa, and, at the conclusion, a lunch at the inn with a dedicated menu consisting of bigoli with court ragout, a board with cold cuts and cheese, and beverage of your choice.

Participation in the experience is 20.00 euros per person, all inclusive, with reservations required through Eventbrite or by writing to info@apsberta.it.

Throughout the day, the inn will remain open, offering lunch and refreshments within the event.

The May 24 event is also a preview of “The Time of Berta,” the medieval re-enactment dedicated to the legend of Berta that will return to Montegrotto Terme on Friday, September 11, Saturday, 12 and Sunday, September 13, 2026 with a rich program of events and activities.
